Top loin steak is a lean cut according to USDA guidelines. A cooked 3 ounce portion contains only 6 grams of total fat and only 2.3 grams of saturated fat. Beef is an excellent source of protein, zinc, vitamin B12, selenium and phosphorous, and a good source of niacin, vitamin B6, iron, choline and riboflavin.
