KICKIN' CAJUN DIRTY RICE

Kickin Cajun Dirty Rice --

INGREDIENTS

  1. 1 pound Ground Beef (75% to 80% lean)
  2. 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  3. 1 package (5.7 to 8 ounces) Cajun-style dirty rice mix
  4. Water, as needed
  5. 1 can (14-1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes, drained

INSTRUCTIONS FOR KICKIN' CAJUN DIRTY RICE

  1. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add Ground Beef; cook 8 to 10 minutes, breaking into 3/4-inch crumbles and stirring occasionally. Pour off drippings.
  2. Stir in rice mix and water amount indicated in package directions, omitting oil or margarine; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook according to time indicated in package directions or until rice is tender.
  3. Stir in tomatoes. Cook until heated through, stirring occasionally.

  • Cooking times are for fresh or thoroughly thawed Bround Beef. Ground Beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F. Color is not a reliable indicator of Ground Beef doneness.

EXCELLENT, OUTSTANDING, My husband said this is to be added to his top best meals. The flavors are so incrediable together. The butter sauce over the steak really gives it a unique flavor. I thnk this would be excellent with any cut of beef. Marinating it over night would make this even better, if that's even possible. A definate keeper. Will be cookig this at summer bar-b-ques.
