Beef and Cheese Burritos --
30 Minutes or Less

  • Makes 4 servings


  1. 1-1/2 pounds Ground Beef
  2. 1-1/4 cups prepared thick-and-chunky salsa
  3. 1/2 pound pasteurized process cheese spread, cut up
  4. 8 medium flour tortillas (8-inch diameter), warmed
  1. Thinly sliced lettuce, chopped tomato, sliced ripe olives


  1. Heat large nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add Ground Beef; cook 8 to 10 minutes, breaking into small crumbles and stirring occasionally. Remove from skillet with slotted spoon; pour off drippings.
  2. Stir in salsa and cheese; heat until cheese is melted.
  3. Spoon about 1/2 cup beef mixture down center of each tortilla, leaving 1-1/2 inch border at bottom. Fold bottom edge up over filling. Fold right and left sides to center, overlapping edges. Serve with toppings, as desired.

  • Cooking times are for fresh or thoroughly thawed Ground Beef. Ground Beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F. Color is not a reliable indicator of Ground Beef doneness.

I used chili sesame oil, and the dish was just a little spicy! Everyone loved it!


What a great way to stretch a single pound of ground beef. The 3 cups of rice takes on the flavor of the beef and it feels much more "beefy" than it really is. Great for us meat-lovers! And easy to prepare if you don't have a lot of time.
