Burger Sliders with Secret Sauce

Keep your athlete fueled with Chef Josh Capon's grilled sliders topped with secret sauce and classic burger toppings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground Beef (80% lean or leaner), shaped into 8 (3-ounce patties)
  • Salt and pepper, as desired
  • Slider potato rolls, buttered and toasted
  • 8 slices American cheese
  • 8 tomato slices
  • Green leaf or shredded iceberg lettuce
  • Pickle slices

Secret Sauce:
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup chopped dill pickle or dill relish
  • 1 TBSP yellow mustard
  • 1 TBSP red wine vinegar
  • 1 TBSP Worcestershire sauce

Cooking

  1. Season Ground Beef patties with salt and black pepper.
  2. Place patties on grill over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 7 to 8 minutes (over medium heat on preheated gas grill, 8 to 9 minutes) until instant-read thermometer inserted horizontally into centers registers 160°F, turning occasionally.
  3. Evenly top with cheese during last minute of grilling.
  4. To assemble place secret sauce on bottoms and tops of buns. Place burgers on bottoms of buns; top with tomato, lettuce, pickles and top bun.
  5. Serve and enjoy!
