Meet Alabama farmer: Tray Thompson
Meet Alabama Cattleman Tray Thompson of Headland, Alabama. As a Marine Corps Veteran, Tray grew up on a 6,000 acre peanut and cotton farm. In 2019, Tray and his wife Shelby merged family farms and began raising cattle that her family proudly managed. Today, Family Tradition Farms runs 140 head over 180 acres just south of Troy in a town called Ariton, Alabama. Tray stays busy as an alumni of the beef checkoff-funded Young Cattlemen's Leadership Program Class VI, the chairman of the Dale County Young Farmers and as a YBS board member for Alabama Ag Credit.
