Kansas, we don’t have to steer you in the direction of a good steak, so consider this just a reminder. Join America at the grill this summer and celebrate deliciously as United We Steak.
Meet Arturo and Wrenn Pacheco, the husband and wife team behind the food blog, “Cooking with the Cowboy!” Arturo does the cooking while Wrenn is in charge of the tasting, writing, and photography. They have two little cowboys that are rowdy and love to help in the kitchen. Arturo has his Ph.D. in ruminant nutrition and, through his nutrition consulting business, helps farmers and ranchers practice efficient feeding practices. He has clients all over the country and his goal is to help ranchers and cattlemen raise a high-quality product. Together, Arturo and Wrenn also ranch and manage a custom-grazing operation. This ranch consists of caring for cattle and developing heifers on behalf of ranchers in Kansas. They do all of this and more in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
Nearly 20% of all wheat grown in the US is grown in Kansas. This is why Kansas is called the “Wheat State” and “Breadbasket of the World.”
